3 Ways To Make Your Backyard An Extension of Your Home

pier one 1

This post is in collaboration with Pier 1 Imports but all opinions and ideas are completely my own.

With summer right around the corner I’ve been thinking about the numerous ways to make a backyard everyones favorite hangout. I love entertaining al fresco! For my outdoor furniture and decor, Pier 1 has an awesome selection of cute + practical pieces that won’t break the bank! Below I’ve linked my favorite pieces from the outdoor collection, as well as everything shown in today’s post.

Extend Your Living Room. Pull out colors, textures, and furniture styles that can also be found inside your home. We’re all about the coastal look around here (it’s an East Coast thing) so we chose seaside hues, textiles, and decorative accents for this outdoor space. You can’t go wrong with nautical ropes and wicker chairs!

Let there be food. One of the easiest ways to make your outdoor space feel more like an extension of your home is to bring out the food! Mix things up for lunch by bringing the snacks (pimento cheese and mixed fruit bowls are my FAVE!) outside or host a bonfire for friends with a smore’s bar! I love the Carmelo Melamine Dinnerware set for outdoor dining.

Make sure your landscaping is on point. No one wants to spend time in a unkempt backyard. Just as you take the time to clean your home on the reg (especially when inviting guests over) be sure to put the effort into keeping your yard and landscaping looking well manicured. Don’t have the time or skills to maintain your space? Y’all know I’m all about outsourcing!
