Alba Grace at 4 Months Old

We’re both wearing Lila + Hayes. Is there anything sweeter than matching your baby girl? I think NOT!

My baby girl is officially a 4 month old! Has anyone discovered the secret to slowing down time?! I feel like we were just bringing our miracle baby home from the hospital and cuddling her sweet self 24/7. I digress. 3 months was my favorite! She’s growing so much and loving life. Interested in everything and amazed by the world.

4 month stats

She’s almost 13lbs. What whaaaaat! Slow and steady wins the race. Our pediatrician said this number is PERFECT right now which makes my mama heart happy. She’s still 24 inches long although I think she looks muuuch longer. Tall little girl! I was a bit surprised by her length and weight at our 4 month checkup on Friday but I’m so glad she’s healthy and right on track!

her current schedule

She’s taking 2-3 small naps a day, still a longer nap for me in the mornings when I’m home with her but not nearly as long when she’s at her Geesh’s or Yaya’s house. Grandma names are the best aren’t they?! Nearly every evening around 6:30 we go for a long walk around the neighborhood (she gets really fussy during this time if we don’t) and then we start bedtime. We’ve pushed bedtime back a couple of times when we’ve been out and despite lots of tears, she still slept through the night. Huge sigh of relief!

her favorite things

Going out on the town (and by that I mean trips to Target and the post office, lol), making all kinds of noises (literally the cutest thing I’ve ever heard), sitting up in her bumbo or sit me up chair, when I wake her up in the morning before work (she’s so giggly and happy to see me!), kicking the toys on her play mat, and dancing around the house with her daddy.

hardest moment

Figuring out a solid work/family balance has been tough for me this month but I think we’re moving in the right direction! Developing solid family rhythms and routines while AG is still little has been really pressing on my heart.

sweetest moment

Watching little miss roll over and smile big because she’s SO proud of herself!

something fun we did this month

We took a trip to South Carolina with our sweet friends. We were really nervous about traveling with a baby but AG did so well. Biggest hurdles: figuring out what to pack and trying to stick to our routines while in a new place. One night we were out to dinner (past the little lady’s bedtime might I add…) and AG had a major blowout. We figured “no big deal” we’ll just take her to the bathroom and thrown on her backup outfit. Unfortunately, the backup outfit was nowhere to be found. And there was no blanket/swaddle in sight. Well… poop. We had to cover our poor naked baby up with a dinner napkin. She rocked it though. Such a champ.

breastfeeding

As of last week I am no longer nursing or pumping. That’s right friends, I packed up the pump. As sad as it is i’m trying to stay positive and remain thankful for the nearly 4 months that I was able to provide my baby girl with exclusively breast milk. You might remember that I got sick during her third month of life and my supply suffered greatly. Unfortunately it never made a comeback. Trying to find the very best formula (so many factors: quality, ingredients, price, accessibility) was stressful but we finally landed on Earth’s Best and we’ve been pretty happy with it! AG transitioned pretty well. She spit up a lot in the beginning but she’s been doing fine the past few days. Praise the Lord!

Thanks for following along, friends! Love y’all!
