Floral Themed Baby Shower

I had the pleasure of hosting my best friend’s baby shower last weekend. It was such a treat to shower her with love and celebrate baby Winley! I’m a little too excited for Alba Grace to have another little girl so close in age to grow up with. Seriously, SUCH a dream! I know many of y’all are in a similar season of life – lots of new babies and showers happening all the time, so I thought I’d share the details!

DETAILS

The shower started at 11am. The mama-to-be wore the prettiest white dress and was absolutely glowing! Guests arrived between 11 and 11:30 and around 11:30, after lots of mingling, we blessed the food and invited everyone to eat. The guests were asked to fill out a little “advice for the mama” notecard during the shower. I elected to do this instead of any games – although I love a good game! But we had a pretty large group so I thought it might be a bit time consuming and difficult to manage. Skipping the games gave the guest of honor plenty of time to chat with her friends and family and to open all of her gifts while the guests were present. I always serve food and drink in my dining room, which is the first room you walk into. I love keeping our kitchen and kitchen island free for guests to gather around! Guests were encouraged to place their gifts in the living room which worked out well because everyone migrated deeper into the house. It was so much fun!

DECOR

Catie showed me a beautiful floral wallpaper print that she had fallen in love with but decided against using in the new baby’s nursery. The invitations and decorative details were inspired by that print. I found a Rifle Paper Company wrapping paper that had the same whimsical feel and incorporated that into the tablescape as a runner. Then I went a little wild on the floral front! 😉 Ps. The wrapping paper actually came in sheets and I thought it would look so beautiful framed so I sent it home with Catie. Good to know for the future! Makes for super inexpensive art!

MENU

Because the shower was so early in the day, I went with a brunchy menu. Here’s what we had…

Strawberry Cake

Almond Macarons

Chick-fil-a Chicken Minis

Baked Brie

Greek Yogurt Parfaits

Pasta Salad

Citrus Water

Pink Sparkling Soda

Coffee

How cute is Catie?! She is one of those women that looks amazing while pregnant and literally glows! So so excited for her to start this mama journey! And super grateful for the gift of her friendship. Also, if I could have a house filled with friends every weekend I’d be a happy camper!
